full steam ahead!

Greeting’s from Matt,

We are closing in on our last days here,  and want to share some of the project goals we reached thus far.
Our “to do list” was quite big at the biggining of last summer (2016). We have finally managed our project list down to just a few things. Last year, when we made the decision that we would sell in early 2017, we new that getting started asap was critical.

Given the short Summer season that our region is know for, we obviously tackled exterior home repair and restoration first. We put on a new roof, with the help of Uncle Bill and Chad Dobson! And added new clear corrugated roofing to our patio. The entire house got new exterior paint. We added new eves, replaced some rotten facia and added one new section of gutter. Earlier in the year (Jan 2016ish) we replaced our water line, from street to house, due to water leak.

Into Fall 2016…   We upgraded our fireplace with a new wood burning stove, and cased the old mantle/pedestles with new pine. A new base for a hearth was built too. We completed our fireplace tile and mosaic. We replaced our old HVAC Insulation (open-face pink fiberglass), with new bubble Insulation. Fixed a small strucual floor beam problem. Added new vapor barrier and cleaned the crawl space up. We resolved a wiring issue in our main electrical panel too.

Dec 2016-present… Laura cleaned out attic space! Some friends helped us install a new front door and slider. Thanks Riley and Casey Greek! Visit them here- greekbrothersgc.com Interior paint was started with the help of Sister Kellie and Momma Eklund, and we have been finishing up all the final touch-ups. We installed a new int/ext garage door, and added all new door knobs to the rooms.

Odds and ends….  Install concrete hearth and countertops. Tile backsplash. Stain and seal hearth. Replace a few bamboo floor planks. Add Insulation to small area in attic crawl. So ….the project list is getting there!

Through-out these last months we have been down-sizing our lives too. That’s for another blog post though😁

We are so grateful for our parents Barb and Dan Ulsund for watching our girls on planned evenings, so we can make big pushes through the project list. THANK YOU AND LOVE YOU!!  Mucho love to the Eklunds and Ejde Family! And all of our family and family that have supported us! LOVE YOU ALL!! Our two girls Zienna (6) Amma (22m) have been troopers!! Z can’t wait to build a giant tree fort when we get our land and Amma, well she is just happy running around naked and making messes! Stay tuned! Mucho love! ✌🏼🌱💛🚀
